The Stories of Carey Park exhibition is finally waving goodbye after a solid run since 12 June, having dug up all sorts of forgotten yarns about the suburb's tough-as-nails spirit, cheeky resilience, and that undeniable charm. Think fibro shacks where the backyard cricket matches lasted longer than a politician's promise, heated footy feuds that could rile up the whole neighbourhood, and families so close-knit they'd probably share the same stubbed toe story. It's been a bit of a time machine for visitors, sparking old memories and patching up dusty friendships, all while reminding everyone why Carey Park has that warm spot in Bunbury's collective heart.
To send it off properly, the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre is putting on a free morning tea this Sunday, 12 October 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at 1 Arthur Street, Bunbury WA 6230. Swing by to swap stories about the folks, spots, and mishaps that shaped the place, grab a cuppa, and maybe chuckle over how nothing's changed since those front-yard games. It's no-fuss entry, though they'd appreciate an RSVP if you're keen, just to avoid running out of biscuits.
