Salt painting at Withers Library is one of those sneaky clever kids activities that sneaks in a bit of science while they think they are just messing about with art supplies. You slap on some glue, sprinkle table salt, then dab watercolour paints and watch the colours creep and mingle into textured patterns, like the paper is auditioning for a tie dye job.

Best for children seven and up, its a low fuss affair on Wednesday 28 January 2026 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Withers Community Library, 33 Hudson Road, Withers, WA 6230. Free entry but bookings are a must unless you fancy standing in the doorway.
