Dave Warner and Tony Durant will spend a morning talking and playing music, swapping stories that stretch from 1970s punk basements to psychedelic folk drawing rooms. Warner, who helped start Australia's first punk band Pus in 1972 and released his eleventh album with Rude Crew in 2023, has a career that wanders through gold records, crime novels and screenplays. He was once named Bob Dylan's favourite Australian artist, which sounds good on a CV and probably led to some interesting dinner conversation. Durant, long regarded as the godfather of British psychedelic folk, has been making music alongside Warner for about five decades, so expect the chat to wander gloriously off course into songwriting, rebellion and the occasional anecdote that may or may not be true.
