If you're keen to hear a couple of blokes chew the fat about schools, Michael Lawrence and Dr Fabio D'Agostin are heading to Bunbury Public Library. They've just penned a book called Creating Schools: Where Students and Teachers Want to Be, and they'll be chatting about it on Saturday 6 September 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Essentially, they've taken a good hard look at the Australian education system and reckon it's time for a bit of a revamp.
These chaps aren't just pointing out the obvious; they've got some rather interesting notions on how to make schools places where kids actually enjoy learning and teachers don't feel like they're constantly swimming against the tide. So, whether you're a parent trying to decipher homework, a teacher who's seen it all, or just someone who thinks there might be a better way to do this education caper, this might get you pondering. It's a freebie, but you'll need to book your spot as there aren't an infinite number of chairs. You'll find them at 2 Parkfield St, Bunbury WA 6230.
