Calling all dog owners, or more accurately, calling all humans who spend their days untangling leashes and wrestling with the world's most stubborn knot collection. If your hallway looks like a spaghetti junction of nylon webbing, you might be interested in a crafty solution. On Wednesday 15 July 2026, from 2pm until 3pm, you can wander into the Withers Community Library and decorate a wooden board that will hold your pet's leash in a tidy, dignified manner. No more burrowing through the coat cupboard like a badger searching for a bone. This is for kids aged six years and up, because anyone younger might end up gluing the leash to the ceiling.

The event costs five dollars per child, which is almost certainly cheaper than replacing yet another chewed lead. Spaces are limited and you absolutely need to book ahead, so get in touch with the library before the craft supplies run out and you're back to using a bent coathanger. The session runs from 2pm to 3pm at 33 Hudson Road, South Bunbury, inside the Withers Community Library. Bring your imagination, leave the dog at home, and prepare to give your leash holder a personality that makes you smile every time you grab it for walkies.
