Got a kid who's been bouncing off the walls these school holidays and you're running out of ideas that don't involve more screen time? Consider the Mini Skateboard Art Workshop at Bunbury Public Library. On Tuesday 14 July 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, kids aged 8 to 14 can grab a blank wooden skateboard deck and go to town with paint markers. Whether they're into sketching their favourite cartoon character, doodling a pattern that looks suspiciously like a bag of chips, or just seeing what happens when you mix every colour in the set, this is a chance to create something that's part art project, part miniature skateboard. And yes, they get to take it home.
It costs a very reasonable five bucks per kid, which is basically the price of two Freddo Frogs these days, and bookings are essential because the library can only handle so many mini artists at once. The event runs from 10:30 to 12:30, so you've got a solid two hours to wander off, grab a coffee, or just sit in the corner and pretend you're supervising. The address is 2 Parkfield Street, Bunbury, right near the centre of town. No need to bring anything except your child and maybe a sense of humour about the inevitable paint on their sleeves.
