Noongar Country is an annual exhibition celebrating the talent and diversity of local Indigenous artists and their stories, offering artists the opportunity to extend their practice by interpreting a theme and exhibiting their artwork for sale.
Opening at BRAG on 17 June, the exhibition is set to impress and inspire visitors yet again.
The theme for is ‘For our Elders’ which is also the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Observance Committee’s theme for NAIDOC Week 2023 kicking off on 2 July.
The exhibition will show the artworks of contemporary Indigenous artists living on Noongar Boodja exploring themes around those that unite us as people, those that educate, those that protect us and those that care for our Boodja – our Elders.
The community is invited to celebrate BRAG’s new program of exhibitions at an opening and awards day when the winners of Noongar Country will also be announced.
Happening at BRAG on Sunday 2 July, the event will feature live music from Wardandi Bibbulmun singer, songwriter Boox Kid, local market stalls, food vendors and family-friendly activities.
