If your child has ever looked up at the night sky and asked why the stars aren't arranged like a pizza, this is the event for them. On Wednesday 8 July 2026, from 10 to 11 in the morning, the Bunbury Public Library is hosting a kids' astronomy session that is about as hands on as you can get without actually flying to space. Suzanne from Starbright Wonderland Photography will guide children aged 6 to 12 through a story based look at exactly what is visible in Bunbury's sky that very night. There will be games, activities, and a take home map and booklet, so the learning does not stop when you walk out the door. It is free, but spaces are limited and bookings are essential, so do not leave it until the night before.
The library is at 2 Parkfield Street, Bunbury WA 6230, and the session runs from 10am to 11am. No telescopes required, just a sense of wonder and maybe a quiet snack if your child gets hungry during all that cosmic thinking. This is not a pitch, just a friendly heads up that science can be fun, even on a Wednesday morning in winter.
